Bill Thompson Award

Few people in WA have had a bigger influence on Perth’s dining scene than the acclaimed food & beverage writer BILL THOMPSON

A food & wine columnist for The Sunday Times for 33 years, beginning as the aptly named Night Owl and writing the popular Good Times pages. Bill was completely devoted to the industry, his integrity and his knowledge of food and restaurant operations was unquestionable.In 2003 he won the Wine Press Club Award and in 2001 Bill was named a Legend of W.A’s Hospitality Industry. The Bill Thompson Award is open to all wait persons, including Team Leaders and Supervisors. Applicants must include all relevant documentation supporting the selection criteria, with payment on submission of entry.

This award is open to all entrants of the 2011 Gold Plate Awards. The winner will be announced at the 2011 Gold Plate Awards.
